Former Milwaukee Bucks player and US Olympic athlete Michael Redd joined a group of tourists to Hebron.
The Israel365 “Beauty from Ashes” tour which travels to Poland and Israel visted Hebron last week. Among the participants was Michael Redd, a former NBA basketball player with the Milwaukee Bucks. He also played for the United States Olympic basketball team which won a gold medal in 2008.
Redd visited a school in Kiryat Arba, Hebron’s sister city where played with local students. At the school Redd stated, “I am enjoying your beautiful nation, and we are humbled to be here. Basketball has been very good to me. It has literally taken me all over the world, and the more I travel, I understand that basketball is a universal language. One of the first things I saw when I came to the nation was a basketball court, and it really touched me.”
He was joined by Rabbi Tuly Weisz, founder of Israel365. The group also visited the Tomb of Machpela and other historic sites.
