Actor Jon Voight visits Hebron

Academy Award-winning American actor Jon Voight visited Hebron on
February 20, 2022 as part of a tour of Israel for a film series.

He met with Dr. Noam Arnon and international spokesperson Yishai Fleisher to learn about
the history of the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs (Cave of Machpela), the Tomb of
Ruth and Jesse and other Jewish archeological sites.

Voight said his fame could help encourage people to visit the region. “Everything
becomes alive and gives them strength and clarity because every part of the Bible is a
teaching,” he stated.

The forthcoming series is tentatively called The Land of Israel: God’s
Story
and will also feature Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and other locations in
the Biblical heartland. It will be distributed by JLTV,  an US-based television
network broadcasting Jewish–themed programming such as
FaudaPrisoners of
War
and Friends of Chabad’ which also features
Voight.

The veteran actor praised Hebron stating, “we were all moved by the visit and the things
that were said, including deep insights into the essence of the fathers and mothers as
spiritual sources and the foundations of morality and human values.”

He said the purpose of the new series is to “trace the beginnings and come here and show
people the places where these events happened and get an insight into the personalities
of the patriarchs and the chosen people who have brought us to this time.”
