Health Minister Uriel Busso and his staff conduced a tour of Hebron and Kiryat Arba together with Health Committee Chairman MK Yonatan Mashriki.
“Ensuring quality and available health services for the residents of Judea and Samaria is not only a medical necessity but also a clear expression of national and social responsibility,” Minister Busso stated. “The residents of Hebron and Kiryat Arba are an inseparable part of the State of Israel, and we must provide them with the best service in routine and emergency situations,” he added.
They met with the head of the Kiryat Arba-Hebron Regional Council, Yisrael Bramson and held a working meeting with the council with the participation of the CEO of the Yesha Council Omer Rahamim professionals from the Ministry of Health, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, significant issues related to improving health services for the approximately 20,000 residents of the greater Hebron Hills region which includes Kiryat Arba, Hebron, and smaller communities and moshavs. These include medical center services at night and on weekends and holidays. Also discussed were emergency preparedness and rapid response teams.
After the meeting, Minister Busso and MK Mashriki visited the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs (Cave of Machpela) and the Tomb of Yishai and Ruth in the ancient cemetery in Hebron.
MK Mashriki added, “The visit to Kiryat Arba and Hebron reinforces our commitment to ensuring strong, available and equitable public healthcare in all localities in the country. Health is not a privilege, but a basic right that we must ensure for the entire population.”
