On the 29th of Iyar, 5727, (June 8, 1967) the city of Hebron was liberated during the Six Day War. For 19 years Jews were banned from setting foot into the city or anywhere in Judea and Samaria. The dramatic, bloodless liberation of Hebron led to the return of a Jewish community which had been decimated in the 1929 massacre. Today Hebron has a thriving community and its historic sites are open to all.

The events are under the auspices of the Israeli Ministry of Heritage.
