Hebron Jews and Muslims share Kosher Iftar Meal

For the fourth time since 2019 Jews and Muslim from Hebron shared a
kosher iftar meal. The traditional evening meal breaks the fast that Muslims hold every
day during the Islamic month of Ramadan.

Dr. Noam Arnon, the Hebrew-language spokesperson of the Jewish Community of Hebron
attended the event along with international spokesperson Yishai Fleisher and
others.

“We have to make sure that the future of this area will be a future of peace,” Arnon
told the Jerusalem Post, adding that the City of Abraham could be even more of a tourist
destination.

The meal was held at the home of Hebron businessman Ashraf Jabari who together with Avi
Zimmerman of the city of Ariel co-founded the Judea and Samaria Chamber of Commerce,
dedicated to enhancing business ties between Jews and Arabs.

Yishai Fleisher told the gathered guests about the time Jabari helped him arrange
fireworks to be displayed over the ancient Tomb of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs in
Hebron in honor of his daughter’s bat mitzvah in 2020. The bat mitzvah guests did not
believe him when he explained that he contacted members of the Arab community of Hebron
to get the job done.

“There is a lot of joint activity the two communities can do together to improve the
city,” Fleisher said.
