Parshat Vayakhel-Pekudei – Culmination of the Tabernacle

Shalom my friends, this is Simcha Hochbaum of Hebron. This Shabbat is Parshat Vayakhel-Pekudei. The Jewish nation’s journey culminates in a special commandment to build a tabernacle for Hashem.

The Torah describes every little detail down to the last peg of how we are to complete building the Mishkan.

The Torah also says the ultimate purpose of that construction was that God’s glory should fill the entire tabernacle.

A lot of times when you start a project, you’re excited. You’re full of anticipation with dreams. Then when you actually working on it, you start cutting back a little bit. You lose the enthusiasm, you’re not as thorough about it.

The Torah testifies that every step of the way Am Yisrael does the project from A to Z, from Aleph through Taf with every single detail.

We’re hoping with this current milhama, with the war of destroying the evil regime, the Jewish nation will finish to the very, very end. We won’t stop in the middle. We won’t get discouraged. We won’t change our initial goal of wiping out that evil on all the different fronts we’re being attack on, will be completed. And only then God’s glory, God’s infinite light will fill the Mishkan.

Everyone talking about the great wonder the Iron Dome which is alluded to in this week’s parsha. The Torah describes that there was a cloud of glory that hovered over the tabernacle. There was a pillar of fire that was also there detecting at night. That was Iron Dome back then, protecting the Jewish people in the desert.

Just like then, when the Jews were protected from all the elements, God should continue to protect us from all the enemies and all the missiles and all the sirens.

We should be privileged, God willing, to see the blessing of Moshe Rabeinu. May God’s divine providence be in the work of our hands. We should be able to see Hashem’s blessing in all of our efforts, in all our Mesirut Nefesh and sacrifice.

Shabbat Shalom.
