Passover Music Festival in Hebron 2022

Thousands came to Hebron on the week-long Jewish holiday
of Passover. Smiles and laughing children filled the air during the street fairs,
the inspiring early-morning Hallel service with Rav Shmuel Eliyahu and the Hebron
Fund tours were all sold out.

The Hall of Isaac and Rebecca was open on Monday and Tuesday, as was the Tomb
of Otniel ben Knaz. Despite the political tension, it was a fun-filled, safe, and
happy Passover in Hebron thanks to the Jewish community of Hebron, police, IDF,
medics and volunteers and all the personnel who ensured a safe and joyous holiday.

Post-Passover Event Honors Hebron
Rabbi

Israeli president Isaac Herzog celebrated the Jewish holiday of Mimouna at the
President’s Residence in Jerusalem. This holiday unique to the Moroccan Jews and other
members of North African Jewry marks the end of Passover.

The celebration included a memorial to the early Zionist leader Rabbi Yehuda Bibas,
who lived in and was buried in Hebron, marking the 170th anniversary of his
passing.

President Herzog called Rabbi Bibas “one of the first forerunners of Zionism… his story
is also the story of the Jewish infrastructure at the core of political Zionism. His
tremendous historical contribution has not received sufficient recognition, and we are
very pleased with the correction here today.”
